Maybe you're thinking, 'Well they're criminals, they deserve to live like that'? But what about prisons in Scandinavian countries? Inmates have open door cell policies, access to kitchens and cooking utensils, TVs and gaming consoles in their cells, some of them even get to leave the Pr*son by day to work only to return at the end of the day. How is this allowed? Why is this allowed? What system are they following and what can the Scandinavian Pr*son system teach us about working in groups and getting along with other people? What can these systems teach us about individuals and responsibility we can learn about for life?Your Speaker:Sonja MaricA PDHPE educator, teacher educator and researcher passionate about making physical education meaningful, inclusive and relevant for every student. A Lecturer at Macquarie University and accredited NSW teacher, she has extensive experience across school and higher education, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students in PDHPE, early childhood and primary education. Her research focuses on the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) model and the potential of physical education to develop skills such as respect, teamwork, self-direction and leadership.
