From De André to Guccini, passing through Vecchioni and Bennato, the songs, accompanied only by voice and piano, offer the audience a chance to rediscover the essence of these great classics.Through quotes from Bukowski, Boll, Mann, Mutis, Rostand, Cervantes, Lee Masters, and many others, the concert is a delicate and passionate invitation to reading, aiming to help the audience discover or rediscover literary masterpieces through the inexhaustible power of song.The concert will also accompany the opening of the Head On Photo Festival exhibition, on view at the IIC until January 2026.Lorenzo Santangelo is a singer-songwriter, author, and radio host, and has released two EPs (Canzoni in fuga, 2015; Respiro, 2019) and two albums (L’ultimo album d’esordio, 2016; Musick, 2023).He began studying piano at the age of four. In 2011, he moved to Turin, where he wrote and published a novel, Qualsiasi cosa sia, as well as several short stories. In 2013, he relocated to Australia, where he continued his career as a singer-songwriter. Since 2016, he has collaborated with SBS, the Australian national public broadcaster, for which he has created and hosted several programs, including Parlando di Musica, still on air after more than 200 episodes, in which he interviews prominent Italian artists every week.In 2017, he became an Australian citizen. Returning to Italy, since 2020 he has also written for other artists and has gained recognition at various events, winning several awards, including the Premio Fabrizio De André in 2022 and the Premio Nazionale Franco Enriquez in the Singer-Songwriter category as Revelation of the Year with the song L’arancio.In 2023, he released his new album Musick, featuring important collaborations with artists such as Neri Marcorè, Bunna (Africa Unite), Francesco Moneti (Modena City Ramblers), Ninja (Subsonica), and many others. In its first week, the album reached number 18 on the Italian sales charts.Highly active live, over the years he has collaborated with many artists including Neri Marcorè, Andrea Mingardi, Silvia Mezzanotte, Alberto Bertoli, Africa Unite, Daniele De Gregori, and Federico Sirianni.
