Born in New Orleans and raised in the deep south of Louisiana, Eugene grew up steeped in music. His father performed as blues guitarist Hideaway Slim, and his family ties include none other than Tina Turner. Eugene’s own journey has taken him from singing in gospel choirs to touring with The Mighty Clouds of Joy, to serving in the US Air Force and later forming his own band. His discography spans decades, with standout albums like Jump the Joint and Rock and a Hard Place earning international acclaim.
Described as a "vibrant and enthusiastic singer and guitarist" by Allmusic, Eugene lights up every stage he touches.
