Inspired by traditional “crazy quilts", participants will be encouraged to be experimental and make without measuring or using patterns.This workshop is for people aged 15–25 years. Some sewing experience required in machine and hand stitching.Tiny quilts can be created using a mixture of fabrics supplied by the workshop and two or three special pieces of fabric brought along by the participant maybe your favourite T-shirt, flannel shirt, or an old pillowcase, or print from your cultural background if you wish.You will learn tips and tricks about creating a balanced composition as well as how to combine hand and machine stitching techniques to create a playful and special, tiny quilt - all through the lens of contemporary art!"ABOUT THE FACILITATORAmelia Skelton is an emerging, multidisciplinary artist living and working on Gadigal Land (Sydney, Australia). Amelia's practice combines quilt making, sculpture, and assemblage to explore the relationship between people and their things. Amelia has shown her work in group exhibitions nationally and internationally and presented numerous solo exhibitions in both Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.
