What is this?
First, this is not a race. Second, this is not even a group ride. This is an additional biking adventure being held in conjunction with the activities of The Right Direction’s Biketoberfest (
https://www.facebook.com/events/814630900896888).
Why should you ride this?
Because riding a bike from trail to trail for 4 to 6 hours is awesome.
What can you expect?
The MTB-Epic will be an adventure bike ride through various trails from Oak Openings to the Maumee River. The final route will be posted a week in advance. This year's route will be different as much of towpath 2 and red fox trails have received little maintenance this year. Expect 50-60 miles.
When: 8:00 AM on Sunday October 5th
Where: Beach Ridge Trail Head (

Details: This is an adventure, not a race. To be a finisher of the Biketoberfest MTB-Epic, riders must collect three selfies in route; selfie locations to be determined.
History of the Biketoberfest MTB-Epic:
• 2019 – 52-mile MTB-Epic – 17 finishers
• 2021 – 77-mile groader – 8 finishers – 3 rode TP2 on gravel bikes
• 2022 – 4-laps of oaks – 3 finishers
• 2023 – 52-mile MTB-Epic – 18 finishers
• 2024 – 52-mile MTB-Epic – 19 finishers
Recommendations: All that is really needed is a mechanically sound bike that can cover varying terrain, the rest of the details are up to the rider. Also, wear the proper safety gear, no one is a fan of riding with those without helmets, eye protection, etc. Lastly, tires; I run may nots, as in may pop, may not. I strongly recommend this tire type.
If you have any questions about the ride, feel free to ask.
