- **Event Description**: Celebrate the Winter Solstice and the return of the light with this heart-opening Kirtan. 
Kirtan is a sacred practice of the Bhakti yoga tradition of South Asia, known as the yoga of devotion and the path of the heart. Come and sing simple ancient mantras together, with music and melody, allowing the sound vibrations to soothe the nervous system, open the heart, and bring us back to ourselves — and each other.
No singing experience is needed — just your presence and willingness to join in.

We recognise that practices like yoga have deep cultural and spiritual roots, particularly from South Asian traditions. As facilitators, we approach this practice with deep respect for its origins. Our intention here is not to appropriate but to share practices that promote wellbeing, inclusivity and care for all. 

 We also encourage everyone participating to engage with an open heart, acknowledging the rich cultural history of these practices and the importance of honouring where they come from.
