Skabertawe Ska in association with Piranha Punk presents Addictive Philosophy / The Knuckle Downs / Jake & The Jellyfish / 'Ell Of A Fro

Skabertawe Ska in association with Piranha Punk Rock presents a storming line up of the best live ska / punk / folk bands around with Addictive Philosophy / Jake & The Jellyfish / The Knuckle Downs / 'Ell Of A Fro kicking off at 8pm in The Garage Swansea and going on til 3am with a slammin' ska / punk / folk DJ ta boot all for five bucks. Shockingly cheap I know. Here's the info on all four of our great bands...
Addictive Philosophy are an incredibly awesome ska band coming down to us all the way from Derby for the very first time. We are very very excited to have stop ere on their meteoric rise to greatness. Addictive Philosophy are a great ska band first and foremost but don't settle for any one style of ska mixing up rocksteady, two tone and skacore seemlessly with a healthy big dollop of punk rock. The result is a hugely entertaining and distinctive ska band that absolutely kicks it live. Its a real treat to have em here blazing their flamin' ska sound live on stage. Think Specials meets Inner Terrestrials meets Rancid and be prepared to be blown away.

Next up Jake & The Jellyfish first time down here all the way from Leeds. These boys have been rocking the European scene for a long time playing with a variety of big names along the way. Stopping in on Swansea on their way to Swansea represents a bit of a coup for our dedicated team of organisers (also known as me!) Jake & The Jellyfish will appeal to fans of all genres with their awesome brand of country-esque protest folk sound that is injected with healthy portions of punk and reggae which brews up a massively catchy can't help dancing kinda sound. JAke & The Jellyfish have a universal appeal that easily transcends genres to appeal to one and all who hear em. Make sure you don't miss this.

Not satisfied with two first time appearances for great bands hitherto assumed to be beyond the reach of our fair city we've lined up Gunpowder Plot all the way from Wigan. Gunpowder plot are an absoutley top notch live band who've been around and about the scene since early 2000 despite splitting up once along the way they've still managed to come back stronger and to continue getting better and better as a band consistanly and quickly. Which is no mean feat when you consider that they started out pretty freaking awesome! With a great sound that seemless switches swiftly between punk and anarcho ska. It's fair to say Gunpowder Plot are brilliant at playing both or either, simultaneously or seperately. Especially exceptional live and anything but ordinary.

Finally we're super excited to announce the triumphant return of Welsh skankers 'Ell Of A Fro complete with a fantastic new brass section no less. Fans of ska and punk from this end of the world are no doubt already aware of the awesomely energetic punk injected ska sounds that these guys produce. Complete with a properly manic live show that's something to behold. These guys haven't been down our way for far far too long. So not being one to miss a trick I've remedied that situation sharpish and swiftly. I'm really excited by the prospect of seeing these guys again. Especially now they've poached Chris on sax from Kazakh Stanley.
Here's some pre brass section 'Ell of A Fro to wet your appetites
This banging tune is Happy Fire
And this one is Tony's Mother
This is gonna be one hell of a gig. See y'all there. Don't forget to tell all your friends. In fact don't just tell em, make sure ya damn well bring every last one of em!

Cheers Piranha
