Tour Highlights
On this enlightening 90-minute tour, you‘ll have a chance to:
• Discover the Grand Hotel, once the esteemed Great Western Hotel, which has hosted modern celebrities like Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper
• Explore the Tram Shed featuring detailed models of the Mumbles Train throughout its evolution
• Cross the sleek Sail Bridge, built where Brunel‘s wooden viaduct once connected the town to the surrounding areas
• Examine the site of the former Victoria Station with its magnificent glass-panelled roof
• Stand where the historic South Dock thrived, now transformed into the modern Swansea Marina
• View the impressive Palace Theatre, whose existence is directly linked to the city‘s tramway network
• Spot the remaining railway arches that once supported the elevated lines transporting coal through the bustling port
The walk begins at Swansea Railway Station and concludes at the Palace Theatre in time for the official launch event at 2:00 PM.
