Jack & Menna will share examples of work, explaining the project as we aim to make a big community textiles piece! Menna will guide you through pinwheel patchwork inspired by Welsh blankets. We’ll be chatting about Welfare State, disability and community.They say of the project-“How would you describe your current relationship with the welfare system? Do you think there’s a difference between how you see yourself and how the system sees you? If you could redesign the welfare system, what would it look like?"These are some of the questions asked by artists Jack Moyse & Menna Buss. Jack, with lived experience of disability - photography and installation and Menna, arts in health Textiles facilitator join 9to90 for creative explorations.“We aim to create safe, accessible spaces for people to reflect on and share their experiences of the welfare system and encourage participants to share thoughts creatively without fear of judgement. Through talking and making, the workshops encourage collective expression and peer connection. Participants’ contributions will inform the development of a new artwork, ensuring their voices sit at the centre of the project. The sessions prioritise care, dignity, and consent throughout.
