The Yourspace Lantern Making Lighterupper!

The very first lantern making workshop and parade comes to Yourspace! This is a 2 part family friendly event so please make sure you can attend both parts:

PART ONE: Thursday 30th October 11am - 1pm

Come and join us for the lantern making workshop at Yourspace. You will use willow to create your structure and then cover it in tissue paper that will help create the glow when the lantern lights up. Decorate if you wish with a design inspired by the colours of autumn or spooky silhouettes of halloween.

There will be glue involved so expect to get your hands a little bit messy!

All children under 10 must be supervised by an adult to support with the making and we recommend 4+ for this activity.

PART TWO: Saturday 1st November 3:30-4pm

Your lanterns will dry until Saturday when the inaugural lantern parade will take place as the day begins to get dark and we mark the end of the Whippersnapper-Upper event happeninng from 12-4pm. Join us for the whole event with a variety of stalls run by youths and under 18s. OR just come along to collect your lantern at 3:30pm and be part of the parade around the Yourspace site with all the lanterns aglow!
