The first in a bi-monthly showcase curated by East Of Reno.
Playing in the last bar at the end of the world, Godfathers of Angli-cana, East of Reno, present a night of up-and-coming artists, along with a set of new material from their forthcoming debut album. Equally influenced by the likes of The Band, Lowell George (Little Feat), & Fleetwood Mac, East Of Reno are thrilled to share some of the artists who have been stuck on repeat on their stereos.
Their first bill features up-and-coming Country star Amy Moore and her band and Weaver Line, the project of Sally Horowitz and Benjamin Way.
With a lot to say and the right words to say it, Amy Moore has taken her love of rhythm and added meaning, discovering her love for country music on the way. Her lyrical prowess captures the essence of country music, weaving tales of love, longing, and nostalgia. Yet, it’s her upbeat tempo and irresistible energy that truly captivates listeners, beckoning them to sing and dance along.
Cited as ‘the new sound of UK country’ by the Bristol Gig Guide, who go on to say in a recent gig review ‘As the room sways and dances to her melodies, it’s clear that Amy Moore is destined for greatness, leaving an indelible mark on the world of country music.'
Weaver Line are the real-life house band in the fictional Endless Hotel.
Their songs are for lovers, dreamers, and seekers of everyday magic—moving between candlelit keys, fingerpicked guitar, and velvet vocals.
Formed by artists Sally Horowitz and Benjamin Way, they blend classically structured pop with late-night lounge and a touch of cabaret noir, weaving surreal stories between songs.
Recent performances include The Bedford, The Half Moon, and Spice of Life Soho, with airplay on Brum Radio, Kennet Radio, and Louder Than War Radio, and features in Folking Magazine and Week in Pop.
East of Reno were one of the many stand-out artists who appeared at this year's Folk In The Park. They bring a special mix of Americana filtered through a British lens, creating their own special version of 'Angli-cana'.
With Robbie Robertson and Lowell George cited as songwriting influences, the band focus their lyrical eye on down-on-your-luck characters, regrets, second chances...the kind of stories you might find 'in the last bar at the end of the world'.
East Of Reno are made up of Irwin Sparkes, former member of The Hoosiers on guitar and vocals, Chopper on drums, Pat Murdoch on lead guitar, Chris Vince on keyboards and vocals and Jason Rungapadiachy on bass and vocals. Their eponymously titled debut EP was released last year.
