The SMWTC Annual Apprentice Contest will take place at our Main Training Centre on Saturday November 22, 2025 starting with a 7:30AM orientation. Contestants in each level will compete for 7 hours testing their knowledge in theory, drawing, welding, and shop projects. The projects will be based on a curriculum from each level.

• Level 1 competition — for those who have completed Level 1 tech training and anyone who is a registered as an apprentice without training
• Level 2 competition — for those who have completed Level 2
• Level 3 competition — for those who have completed Level 3
• Level 4 competition — for those who have completed Level 4 (can include Journeys provided they completed in 2025)

Participants will receive lunch, coffee, donuts, and prizes.
Winners in each level will receive additional prizes

Contractors, union members, and parents are welcome to stop by and show support for the training centre and our apprentices. Enjoy a coffee and see apprentices demonstrate their skills. The best time to visit is between 11AM - 1PM
