Families can find themselves caught between wanting to help, trying to prevent harm, and protecting their own wellbeing.During the session, we will explore:why setting boundaries can be difficulthow to set realistic boundaries that protect your wellbeingtips for communicating your boundariesrespond when boundaries are challengedmaintain connection with your person while changing how you respond to their substance useThe session is practical and designed specifically for families and carers. You can participate in discussion and reflection without any expectation to share personal details.You will also have a chance to connect with other families and carers who understand the experience and learn more about the support available from Family Drug Support and the Western Metro Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centre. This event is for family members and carers of people using alcohol and/or other drugs.
