Sunderland Lit & Phil Society presents The Mavericks of Sunderland
ALL AGES
Who are the rule breakers who've forged our city? Mavericks are visionaries who go against the grain to bring their ideas to the town.
ALL AGES
This July, the Sunderland Lit & Phil Society is discussing the Mavericks of Sunderlandare
From Industry to Football, Art to Politics, Sunderland has been forged by people with a vision. This month, we will explore the historical figures and the current Mavericks who have played a part in creating the Sunderland we know today.
Our host, Auburn Langley, will be joined by Angela Smith of the Rebel Women Project, Frank Styles, Multimedia artist. Large mural specialist. Iain Rowan, award-winning writer, senior volunteer for Captain Paul Watson Foundation. Richard Easterbrook, presenter on Sunderland's leading SAFC podcast, Wise Men Say!
Sunderland Lit & Phil evenings are about promoting local talent, experts, and visionaries to share their work and ideas with you, and of course, give you a chance to voice all your questions to those in the know. We are a not-for-profit, community-led organisation aiming to get Sunderland talking.
July's competition - we are looking for our local artist to show their work, whether that's Art, Song, or Poetry, that is inspired by Sunderland and reflects this place we call home.
