releases. On Sunday, November 16th at 2:00 PM at the Northumberland County Historical Society, Deborah Bernhisel will turn back the clock to the 1920’s when Pietro A. Magazzu was the manager of the Chestnut Street Theater, and Sunbury was in its heyday as a cultural destination as she shares some of the theater’s history, provides the names of some of the entertainers who graced the stage, and gives context for Sunbury’s place as an entertainment destination.

The presentation will be in the library of Hunter house, at 1150 N. Front St, Sunbury beginning at 2:00 Pm. Parking is in the rear of the building and can be accessed by way of Fort Augusta Ave. Please join us to learn more of the history of Sunbury and the culture of days gone by.
