- **Event Description**: Please join us for the 11th Annual Asher's Heart Fundraiser.
Many of you know that our son, Asher Steinhauer, passed away from a Congenital Heart Defect after 24 days of life back in 2015. The stresses we went through as a family and continue to go through are tough. In honor of our son, we started a fund to help families going through the same thing as we did. 1 out of 100 babies are born each year with a congenital heart defect.
Asher's Heart Fund goes to support the beads of courage program in the NICU and CHD department, sponsors continuing education for CHD care for nurses, provides comfort care for babies in the NICU through purchasing of clothes, infant scales, baby swings, and anything else they may need. The fund has also provided funds for supplies to make small Heart pillows that are used for kids after open heart surgery to help them cough.
We have raised over $350,000 lifetime for the Children's hospital and their families in honor of Asher. We couldn't have done it without the continued support of the community in Sun Prairie.
Come and join us all day for a lot of fun, raising a lot of money! We will be doing ticket raffles, sticker raffles, live paddle raffles all day, 50/50 raffles, Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Raffle, bead sponsoring, and t-shirt sales. If you don't want to participate in any of the raffles, just dining here, the Varsity will donate 30% of total restaurant sales. 100% of the money raised is donated.
If you would like to help out as a volunteer, please let us know as we will need help during the day to make it a success.
