Underground Performing Arts Collective (UPAC), in partnership with The Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, presents Black Girl Magic, a powerful and moving theatrical experience that blends poetry, monologues, dance, music, and cinematic storytelling.
Written and compiled by Sharon Cook, with original music by Roberta Lea, this production follows the journey of Sister, a young Black woman searching for self-acceptance. Guided by the spirits of her ancestors, she encounters the wisdom, strength, and legacy of Black women across generations. This year’s production introduces new original songs and explores three additional foundational pillars of the Black community.
