ABOUT THE HOLLAND RURITANS
The Holland Ruritan Club was founded in 1928 based upon
a commitment to serve the Holland community. Today our club remains committed to serving others and the Holland Community.
As a sponsor or participant in our annual car show you are helping us to serve our community. This year will be the 7th annual car show. We had 111 show entries for this event last year. Proceeds from the car show are used to support a wide range of charitable activities each year.
Some of the ways we supported the community in 2024 . . .
- Two scholarships were presented to local students
- Donation to Holland Athletic Association
- Sponsored a student to Boys State
- Supported a needy family at Christmas
- Participated in a community food drive
- Donation to help Hurricane Helene
victims in North Carolina
- Support Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with a
donation and assisting with placing 14,000 wreaths
on veterans’ graves at Christmas
- Provided a local family in need of a ramp
and porch for their trailer
- Recognized our first responders in September
- Displaying American flags in Holland during special holidays
such as Memorial Day,
- Flag Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Veteran’s Day
- Supported the local homeless program
- Supported Hunters for the Hungry
- Suffolk Meals on Wheels
- Lakeland High School FFA
- Provided a community Christmas tree
- Supported an Eagle Scout project to provide a new Holland
- Community House sign
- Provided Rudy Bears (teddy bears) to the Fire Department to use
as comfort items for children during first responder incidents
- Supported Southwestern Elementary School
