Set as the launch for the northern project house, 𝙎𝙡𝙞𝙥 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙐𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 is a collective of curated emerging practices, presented, exhibited performed or released in Northern Ontario.
An evening of dualing sound performances set in the dead of winter, 𝙍𝙮𝙤𝙨𝙪𝙠𝙚 𝙆𝙞𝙮𝙖𝙨𝙪 is a performance artist based in Tokyo, Japan. His work as a snare-soloist have been performed globally, and his current expansive tour featured a lucky stop Sudbury, Ontario. Percussion, low tech and improvisation, his body becomes a live wire of explosive sound and movement.
𝙉𝙪𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 cracks through from the ice cold dark streets of Sudbury, Ontario as the solo project of artist Mitch Houle. Using machines patched in patterns, circular rhythms and oscillating percussions succeed the stage. The nexus and chains of past dolphins lost to time and old sound cards, the project is remade and reimagined for the light of the new year.
Design and poster by Sudbury Silkscreen Superstar 𝙅𝙚𝙣𝙣 𝙃𝙚𝙧𝙙. Like day and night, their new works in design and av are set to celebrate the projects new life and announce what's to come!
Special shout-out to the Lounge 390 and Brian Dunn for hosting the special evening. See you soon!
