Every year in the UK, over 40,000 people suffer a cardiac arrest outside of hospital — and sadly, fewer than 1 in 10 survive. But when CPR and a defibrillator (AED) are used within the first few minutes, survival rates can soar to around 70%.

And did you know? From early 2026, the UK driving theory test will include questions on CPR and defibrillator use — meaning lifesaving knowledge is becoming part of what every new driver should know.
