Join us for a cherished community celebration that honours the revival of Junction Creek, the return of life to the watershed, and the dedicated stewards who have made this progress possible.
This family-friendly outdoor event is a hands-on celebration of conservation, community connection, and the continued recovery of our creek ecosystem.

What to Expect:
✨Opening ceremony by the creek at 12pm
🐟 Trout Release: Help release approximately 2,000 brook trout into Junction Creek
🐢 Live Reptile Displays: Meet turtles, snakes, and more with Science North
💧 Stream Health & Wildlife Education: Learn about aquatic bugs, water quality, and ecosystem restoration
🎲 Games & Activities: Interactive fun for all ages
🏡 Community Booths: Connect with local environmental and community organizations
🍔Food & Refreshments: BBQ and drinks available for purchase

This event highlights the incredible transformation of Junction Creek and the collective efforts that continue to protect and restore it. Every trout released is a symbol of resilience, collaboration, and hope for a healthier watershed.

This year’s festival will be especially meaningful as we honor the late Dr. Jane Goodall, who attended the festival and trout release in 2002. A special ceremony and relief sculpture will be unveiled to celebrate her legacy and inspire continued environmental stewardship.
