Explore the use of the reformer in assisting the natural leverage of the limbs through propulsion. Ranging from the most basic to advanced exercises, this workshop investigates the springs, straps, foot bar and carriage to facilitate the alignment and power of the body in movement.
"VIGOR AND VITALITY: THE FASTEST GROWING PILATES POPULATION"
Learn the physiological changes in an aging body and why Pilates can improve the quality of movement for the senior client. The goals of the senior client will be identified and progressions of exercises will be used to evaluate the skills of the client. Learn which exercises that most directly address the needs and considerations of the senior body and when to introduce exercises which challenge the client. This program will teach you how to achieve the fastest results in training this unique client population.
"THE WHOLE PILATES PREGNANCY: PRE-NATAL AND POST-PARTUM"
Through conception, delivery and the fourth trimester, understanding the physiological needs of the mother is of utmost importance in training her body to thrive throughout motherhood. This workshop will review the anatomy of the pelvic floor and the changes which occur during pregnancy, delivery and afterwards. Learn what movements to avoid and what exercise will benefit her most in this stage of life. The post-partum period is the most ignored period by the medical community, learn how, as an exercise professional, you can be an advocate for her physical well-being.

Many of the inversions and spinal extensions in Pilates appear quite advanced and out of reach for many of the average clients walking into the studio. Learn why inversions and extensions of the spine are a beneficial part of the Pilates system and how to safely teach and progress your clients. It is one of the most important practices because our clients should be using the mat workout independently outside the studio lessons.
