Paint a sunflower in watercolour with artist Kathryn Wickson.
You will need to bring the list of materials below or we can provide materials for use on the day for an additional £5.00 - this must be mentioned at the time of booking.
Watercolour Paper – 300gsm or 425gsm – A3 size or similar. It’s best to use 300 gsm or over as any paper less than this will buckle when wet, and won’t dry flat.
Bockingford NOT paper at 300 gsm is an excellent reliable paper plus some small scraps of watercolour paper to try out colours etc.
Watercolour paint – a selection of colours, preferably tubes (not pans) as you can mix larger quantities of paint - Suggested colours: Cadmium or Lemon Yellow, Sap Green, Cadmium Red or Alizarin Crimson, French Ultramarine, Burnt Umber and Indigo.
Watercolour brushes - a selection of sizes but the minimum needed are 3 brushes: size 10 or 12, size 4, 5 or 6, and size 1 or 2 for finer details
Palette or white plate (water colour will wash off)
Kitchen Roll
HB pencil
Putty rubber
2-3 small water pots
Rock salt in a grinder if you have one – please don’t buy one especially as Kathryn has one you can use.
Tea, coffee & biscuits will be supplied
There will be a 15 minute break if you want to bring a packed lunch.
