The Luddenden Shroud (2024), follows artist Rachel Hawthorn as she creates a woollen shroud and cradle from local fibres and foraged plants in the Luddenden Valley. The journey that Rachel and her friend Janet take offers a death-positive meditation on friendship and the healing powers of nature and creativity, giving viewers an opportunity for reflection on their own lives. This special screening brings Rachel together with local makers, including practitioners of willow and ecological craft, for a conversation on grief, place, and ritual.
This event is co-curated with Jane Diamond from Family Tree Funerals and Kat Child from @Stroudtrinityrooms.
