The concept is simple. The execution is brutal.

You have one hour to complete a 4.167-mile (6.706m) loop. Finish in 40 minutes? You get 20 minutes to rest, refuel, and ready yourself. Finish in 59 minutes? You get 1 minute.

𝙊𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧, 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙧, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙤 𝙖𝙜𝙖𝙞𝙣.

Any runner not in the starting corral for the next lap is out. Any runner who fails to complete the lap within the hour is out.

The race is open-ended and will not stop until there is only one runner left standing. That person will be crowned the winner.

🏔️ 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗘

Get ready for a stunning 4.167-mile loop with approximately 560ft of elevation gain. Set in the beautiful Breakheart Quarry nature reserve, the route is 99.9% mixed trail, taking you through stone quarry paths and dense woodland.

You'll face rolling climbs, short downhill blasts, and the infamous "BIG's HILL"—which will feel bigger and bigger with every lap. We strongly recommend trail shoes with plenty of grip!

⛺️ H𝗛𝗤 & 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦

Your base camp is at the start/finish line in the fantastic setting of Breakheart Quarry. We'll have toilets (male, female, disabled), charging points for your devices, and an indoor area for shelter. Hot and cold water will be available. Camping is included (on hard ground, no electrical hook-ups) with plenty of room. We also provide car parking (please car-share as it's limited!) and a dedicated unsupported runner area.

Your entry fee gets you a fully marked route, chip timing, and support from our brilliant event team (first aid & marshals). You'll also get camping, hot/cold water, snacks for runners, and a log fire to warm your tired legs.

To remember the experience, you'll take home a zero-waste log slice medal and an exclusive Breakheart Backyard Beanie. And yes, we'll provide the tissues for when the crying starts and a race director with a (usually) winning personality.

In a backyard ultra, there is no finish line. There is no "good time." There is only one question: Can you complete one more lap?
