Dub on Tap returns this November with a heavyweight session featuring Mighty Oak Sound and Impressa—two iconic names in the UK’s roots and dub scene. Expect a night of deep basslines, spiritual selections, and serious vibrations in the Stroud Brewery Balcony Bar, our home for grassroots sound system culture.
Hailing from the Scottish countryside, Mighty Oak Sound is a sound system and record label rooted in a deep love for nature and dubwise tradition. Founded by Ben and Jofis, the crew has been spinning vinyl since 1998, building a solid reputation for warm, hand-built speaker stacks and conscious selections. Their productions on Mighty Oak Records—like ‘Signs’ with Ramon Judah and ‘Warning Signs’ by Makating Horns—have earned regular spins by legends such as Jah Shaka (RIP), cementing their place in the UK and European dub circuit.
Joining them is Impressa, one of the few female sound system operators in the UK today. From lifting speaker boxes to crafting her own rig, Impressa has climbed the ranks through sheer passion and perseverance. Her sets are powerful, message-driven, and uplifting, bringing a crucial voice and vibe to the dance. Her presence on the Dub on Tap lineup marks another step forward for inclusivity and inspiration in sound system culture.
