Creative Cushion Workshop

We're delighted that Alexandra Hucks is returning to the Top Floor for this wonderfully creative workshop, where fabric remnants and embroidery are combined to great effect.

The day will begin with an introduction and demonstration of the two panel methods, patchwork and appliqué. Taking inspiration from an array of Lewis & Wood fabrics, you will be guided through the process of composition - combining colour, pattern and texture to create your individual panel. In the afternoon, Alexandra will present three ways to use simple embroidery stitches to further embellish and enhance your piece.

You can work at your own pace with guidance on hand and there is no expectation to finish on the day. All equipment, fabrics and embroidery threads will be provided. If you would like to complete your cushion at home, we will also provide a backing fabric.

This class offers the perfect way to start the year off with creative intention in our light-filled studio space. A tasty buffet lunch and afternoon tea are also included.
