What will we be doing?

Join us at Stroud Brewery where we will be running a fun, engaging and educational cookery lesson for children aged 8 to 12 years old. The participants will learn valuable life skills around the preperation and cooking of food. They will also be able to taste and enjoy their creations at the end of the session or if they choose, take them home. Feel free to stay and watch, get a coffee or enjoy some free time during the session!

About me:
My name is Josh and I am the founder of The Outdoor Cooking Club and I will be leading the sessions. I have previously worked as a chef, a youth worker and most recently a primary school teacher with a PGCE in primary education.

Ticket donations:

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to learn the joys and skills of cooking, regardless of their financial background. That's why we have adopted a 'Pay As You Can' model.

1. Suggested Contribution: Our standard price for a space in our cooking class is £20. If you can afford to pay this amount, we greatly appreciate your support. Your contribution helps us cover the costs of running these sessions and allows us to offer the same opportunities to children from less fortunate backgrounds.
2. Flexible Payments: We understand that not everyone can afford to pay the full price. Therefore, we welcome any amount that you can comfortably contribute. Whether it's £10, £5, or even less, every little bit helps us continue our mission.
3. No Questions Asked: If your circumstances make it difficult to contribute financially at this time, that's absolutely okay. Your child is still more than welcome to join our classes for free and this is why we exist. We want to ensure that everyone has access to these valuable learning experiences. However much you pay is completely confidential and non-judgemental, these sessions are for all children to experience.
4. How Your Contribution Helps: Your payments and donations are vital. They help us to provide cooking sessions to all young people regardless of their background.
5. Pay it forward: you are in a position to pay extra towards a session, we will always accept overpayments however big or small. This not only makes sure that we can continue to provide these sessions, it means that all children can take part.

Additional information:

Once a ticket is purchased, we will be in touch just to check if the young person has any allergies, intolerances, SEND needs/ additional information we may need to be aware about to ensure they are safe and have an enjoyable time.

Enhanced DBS, risk assessments and waiver will be present on the day.

Timings:

Please arrive promptly for 10.30am on the day to ensure a swift start after handwashing and putting aprons on.
