Book Binding Workshop

This inspiring one-day course offers a fascinating introduction to the art of Book Binding.

With expert guidance from tutor Carole, you’ll discover how to create your own Coptic bound book with individual hardcovers, coloured dividing pages and a decorative open spine.

You can choose a combination of watercolour and cartridge papers to suit your needs, then learn how to sew it all together. A wide selection of Lewis & Wood wallpapers will be available to use for the covers, but you may bring your own if you wish (thick wrapping papers are good to work with). Each completed book will measure approximately 21 x 16 x 3cm.

Come and join us for a day of creativity in our light filled studio space, resulting in a beautifully bespoke book and a real sense of accomplishment. Guests will also enjoy a delicious lunch and afternoon tea and cake.

Carole King is a bookbinder, artist and teacher from West Wales, who exhibits throughout the UK at galleries and craft events. She creates hand stitched and bound books, hand printed papers, cards and book binding kits, which are available at Nant Designs.
