Ready to roll up your sleeves and get growing?
South Taranaki District Council is inviting locals to a FREE series of practical gardening workshops held at community gardens across the District in 2025-26. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to make the most of small spaces, these sessions offer something for everyone.
Led by Mieke from Sustainable Taranaki, each workshop is packed with hands-on tips, local knowledge and sustainable techniques to help you grow confidently at home.
Getting Started workshop details:
This workshop is a friendly, hands-on session covering the basics of planning, planting, and caring for your own garden plot. Perfect for beginners—come grow with us!
Participants at this workshop will also be the first to preview the new Urban Food Growing Resource initiative. This new resource is designed to help urban households grow their own kai, reduce food waste, and make the most of small spaces, supporting local food resilience and sustainable living.
