This workshop marks a truly special moment in the world of scent detection. Simon Prins has quite literally risen from the ashes following a catastrophic cancer diagnosis that changed his life. After an intense and challenging journey, Simon is now in full recovery and returning to the work that has defined his career and inspired handlers worldwide.
We are honoured to be hosting Simon Prins’ first UK workshop since completing his treatment a milestone event that represents resilience, expertise, and an unwavering passion for working dogs.
This three-day scent detection workshop is designed for both working handlers and spectators, offering deep insight into Simon’s unique methodology and philosophy around scent work, problem-solving, and dog-led learning.
What the workshop will cover:
Advanced scent detection concepts and theory
Building confident, independent search behaviour
Reading and trusting your dog in complex search environments
Problem-solving for common scent detection challenges
Structured search setups across varied and demanding locations
Handlers will work their dogs through progressive scenarios, gaining direct feedback and guidance from Simon, while spectators will benefit from in-depth explanations, discussion, and observation of real-time training decisions.
