Leur sonorité mêle kosmische hypnotique, exploration de guitares doubles, frénésie d'alto, assauts vocaux ethérés et lap steel techniquement élaboré, le tout imprégné d'une production dubby. Entre voix féminine fantomatique, bourdonnements krautrock, riffs angoissants et une touche de surf-rock aux allures noisy, Winged Wheel évoque la respiration d'une bête géante ou d’une maison hantée.

Formé par hasard par des musiciens qui s’étaient croisés lors de concerts improvisés, l’histoire a débuté pendant le confinement où ce beau monde s’envoie des boucles enregistrées à la maison auxquelles chacun.e surenchéri. Whitney Johnson y ajoute sa voix et 8 titres d’un premier album naissent, conçu entièrement à distance.
