On Friday, September 11, the City of Fayetteville Fire Department will participate in its annual 9/11 Honor Hike at the Walk-Up Trail, bringing together firefighters, law enforcement officers, and first responders from departments across Georgia. Participants will take on a one-mile climb to the summit—equivalent to 160 flights of stairs—while wearing full firefighting gear to honor the 343 firefighters and paramedics who lost their lives 25 years ago on September 11, 2001. The City of Fayetteville Fire Department will be joined by Fayetteville Police Officers, Fayette County Fire and many other local fire and law enforcement departments for this annual tribute.

9:03 a.m. – Climb begins at the Walk-Up Trail entrance near the Historical & Environmental Education Center

Summit arrival expected between 10 - 11 a.m.

The community is invited to join us in honoring the courage, sacrifice and service of the 343 first responders who never made it home.

Please note: A Daily or Annual Parking Pass is required for the community members joining us. We ask all guests attending to please be respectful of the significance of this memorial event and those being honored. Summit Skyride will open at 8:30 a.m. Tickets will be available for purchase for guests who prefer not to hike or are unable to hike to the summit.
