About the tutor - Steph HurreellI began learning macramé four years ago while helping raise funds for medical aid for Ukraine working alongside displaced Ukrainian families who had settled in my hometown.I’ve tried many crafts over the years, but macramé quickly became much more than a hobby. Today, I run my own small business designing and selling my pieces and sharing my love of knots with others.Sustainability is at the heart of my work. I use rescued or recycled materials wherever possible, giving them a second life and ensuring that my practice does no harm to people or the planet. I love showing how discarded items can be transformed into something beautiful, and I’m passionate about encouraging others to “tread lightly on the planet.”My style blends traditional macramé techniques with a modern twist, combining different materials and textures to create plant hangers, wall hangings, and home and garden décor inspired by nature.Macramé encourages mindfulness, patience, and a sense of wellbeing.
