MOB are Stoke’s musical stalwarts—a six-piece folk band steeped in English, Irish and
American traditions, but not like any folk group you’ve heard before. Their sound is built on
beautiful Brennan family harmonies, haunting vocal layers, and the raw energy of an
old-time session.
Led by a mother-and-son duo Esther Brennan (Brennan & Buchanan/Boat Band/Jake Leg
Jug Band) and Joseph Brennan-Hulme (Control/Average Joe), they each grab their muso
friends and see what happens after a day’s hard graft!
Featuring Kate Barfield (Boat Band) on fiddle; Stephen Liddle(Slippery Hill Boys sessions)
on banjo & accordion; Toby Wilson (Vox Americana/Jake Leg Jug Band) on guitar and Hollie
Lucas-Birde (Hollie Vee & the Hubkaps/VOX Americana) on double bass. MOB reimagines
traditional and contemporary folk songs with passion and authenticity. From foot-stomping
rants to soulful ballads, MOB impart tales of past and present, through raw music that is
heartfelt, vibrant, and unforgettable.
