University of the Pacific's Conservatory of Music presents guest pianist Orrin Evans with Pacific Jazz Ensemble directed by Patrick Langham. 

A big band in the tradition of Duke Ellington and Count Basie, Pacific Jazz Ensemble performs the classics and embraces the music of contemporary composers and arrangers. 

Pianist Orrin Evans is a fiercely independent artist, a bandleader, composer and musical collaborator. His ensemble Captain Black Big Band has received three Grammy Award nominations.
