Join the Haggin Museum's Department of Museum Travel for an enriching day trip to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park to view the exclusive Monet and Venice exhibition at the de Young Museum. A docent-led tour is included. The exhibition is co-organized with the Brooklyn Museum and features more than 100 artworks. You will experience masterpieces such as The Doge’s Palace, San Giorgio Maggiore, and Palazzo Dario. The exhibition places Monet’s Venice paintings alongside select works from across his career as well as Venetian views by artists such as Manet, Renoir and Canaletto. Your de Young admission ticket includes access to the museum’s other exhibits and to the 9th floor Harmon Tower with its 360º panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and downtown SF. Lunch and the remainder of the day after the tour is on your own. The de Young Café, offering both indoor and outdoor seating, is a convenient lunch option. A stroll through the lovely Music Concourse loop will take you to highlights of the park that you may explore at your leisure, including the Japanese Tea Garden, the Botanical Garden, and the Conservatory of Flowers. Or simply find a bench and enjoy the ambiance. After a day filled with art and natural beauty, relax on the comfortable ride back to Stockton, reflecting on your memorable day.
