- **Event Description**: Our June Repair cafe returns on the 20th June at the hall behind St Paul's church. 

We open from 10am and we will have a number of volunteers available to hopefully repair your items.

PLANNING ON VISITING THE HEATONS REPAIR CAFE?
Here's a few tips from our friendly volunteers to help you get the most out of your visit:

DOORS OPEN AT 10am - We’re usually buzzing behind the scenes setting up beforehand, so if you arrive a little early, thanks for bearing with us while you wait.

WHY DO WE WEIGH YOUR ITEM – We weigh the items that come to our repair café as we track, on a six monthly basis, what hasn’t gone to landfill as a result of the repair. We measure the reduction in carbon footprint using a formula based on weight, type of material, footprint of a new purchase.

TAKE A NUMBER – Once we have weighed your item one of our volunteers will give you a ticket with a number on it. Each colour relates to the specific type of repair you are needed i.e. one
colour for bikes, one colour for electrical etc.

TAKE IT EASY - Fancy a calmer experience? Try popping in after 11.00 am when the early rush should have died down.

BRINGING IN MORE THAN ONE ITEM? - You’ll need to rejoin the queue for each one and check them in separately. The only exception is for sharpening – we can take up to 3 small items like
scissors or garden tools at once unless we're extremely busy! 

CLEAN ITEMS = HAPPY REPAIRERS - Please give your items a quick clean before bringing them in. Think empty hoovers, empty the crumb tray in your toaster, grass-free lawnmowers, and
freshly washed clothes. It really helps – thank you!

BE PREPARED TO WAIT - Our volunteers will carefully select the right person to carry out your repair, so your turn might take a little longer when we're very busy and especially if we have a lot
of electrical repairs as each item needs to be PAT tested before it goes to repair. A perfect excuse to grab a cuppa and a biscuit or slice of cake while you wait and listen out for your number.

LAST CHECK IN IS AT 11.30 (when we are busy) - But if you think your item might take a while to fix, it’s best to come earlier.
