Hello, I’m David (DC), and on September 27th I’m running the Berlin Marathon to raise some much-needed money for the MS Society as part of our team, “Brothers In ArMS”.

I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which, if I’m honest, was a kick in the nuts! There was so much uncertainty and fear around what the implications of it could mean for me and my future.

As a very active person, I was worried it would affect so many of the freedoms that I like many take for granted, but after taking a little time to get my head round it, I rallied and I’ve chosen to fight back in a way that comes naturally to me: by taking on one of the biggest physical challenges of my life, all whilst not letting MS define me, which is where the MS Society comes in.

What makes this even more meaningful is that I’m not facing it alone; 3 of my brothers (Nick, Jonny and Jordan) immediately volunteered and will be running every mile alongside me. My family and friends are with me every step of the way with love and support, their strength lifts me on the days I struggle and reminds me exactly why this matters.

We are running a Friday night lights at Stockport rugby club where two local teams will face off against each other, brother against brother to raise money to help us raise as much as possible for the MS Society. 
There will be a main event game seeing Stockport play Burnage, preceded by a warm up game, entertainment and incredible raffle prizes
