In order to safeguard and protect persons from abuse or neglect we need to learn how to identify vulnerable individuals and take necessary steps to stop abuse and neglect.This course is a full day session with assessment, with the aim to promote awareness and sensitivity to safeguarding, enabling learners to identify the types and characteristics of abuse, record disclosure and appropriately share information with the relevant people. This programme also emphasises the importance of ensuring that safeguarding concerns are reported and acted on appropriately.This course is designed for all persons, no matter the field that they are directly involved in, to give them the tools and knowledge to make a difference to a vulnerable person’s life. It will also let the practitioner reporting the abuse know how they can safeguard themselves in every day work, while seeking help and reporting the incident identified.A range of subjects are covered including:· Safeguarding legislation and guidance· Indicators of abuse or neglect· Making judgements· Communication· Roles and responsibilities· Sharing of information· Dealing with and reporting of allegations and complaintsAssessment and Certification:At the end of the session, learners will take an assessment test. Successful candidates will be awarded a national Level 3 Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People or Vulnerable Adults qualification.This qualification is suitable for employees, supervisors and managers who have contact with children or adults at risk in their working environment, and is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA).FAA are an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and Qualifications Scotland Accreditation and the qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).Refreshments such as tea, coffee and snacks will be provided.** Please note, tickets are available strictly to volunteers and employees working for Voluntary, Community, Faith based groups, Social Enterprises and charitable organisations in Stockport.
