- **Event Description**: Get ready to unleash your creativity and build the biggest Junkbot Robot ever seen - it's gonna be epic!About this EventBig Bots is a hands-on, engaging workshop in which you work as a group to create a 6 foot robot sculpture from electronic waste. This unique experience is sure to get your tinker juices flowing!Each group will dismantle the waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), design a 2D sculpture and build part of the final robot. Once finished, the completed robot will be displayed in Stockport for you to visit whenever you like!Suitable for ages 7+Sign up for one of two sessions on Saturday 22nd November:Sessions on Saturday will be 3 hours long:10:30 - 1:30pm2 - 5pmWhat you’ll doJoin other tinkerers to:Design a robot with a unique storyUse tools to dismantle waste products and put your sculpture togetherThink about waste in a new wayAnd, of course, build a giant robot!Who’s this for?Ages 7+ (u12s must be accompanied by an adult)We can't accommodate younger siblings for safety reasonsAccompanying adults do not need to book a ticketWhat do you need to bring?All equipment is provided. But if you have electronic waste at home that you would like to use, please feel free to bring it with you.Additional informationLight refreshments and snacks will be provided.Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Every under12 booking automatically grants entry to an accompanying adult.Due to venue size, we ask that you don't bring more grown-ups or non-participating siblings so that everyone has plenty of room to create!Due to safety reasons - lots of sharp objects! - we cannot accommodate younger siblings.CostThis event is free to attend. We charge a £5 booking fee, which is refunded on attending the event. Or, if you prefer, you can leave it as a donation to MadLab CIC to support future community-led events. Refunds will be processed within seven working days. If you cannot afford a ticket, please email office@madlab.org.uk with your name and postcode, and we will be in touch.About the facilitatorMark Haig is a maker and engineer with over 40 years of experience making robots. He is the creator of Gizmobots: robot artworks made from salvaged treasures found at car boot sales, skips, and scrapyards.
