Edinburgh’s cult-indie songwriter Withered Hand (Dan Willson) is back with his first new album in 9 years. “How To Love” (Reveal Records 2023) was recorded with producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai/Teenage Fanclub/Belle & Sebastian) in Glasgow and features guests King Creosote and Kathryn Williams, both of whom are long standing collaborators.
Breaking out of Scotland’s fabled Fence Collective music scene in 2009, Dan released his acclaimed debut album “Good News” (SL Records 2009/Absolutely Kosher 2011) the same year. His second studio album “New Gods” (FortunaPop!/Slumberland Records 2014) was nominated for the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY Awards) and an Association of Independent Music Award. Withered Hand has been a much-loved fixture of the live scene for over 15 years, has toured extensively in the UK, Europe and North America, and has earned a devoted fanbase internationally for both his solo and band performances.
Another album of new songs co-written with Mercury Prize-nominated English singer-songwriter Kathryn Williams entitled ‘Willson Williams” will be released in 2024 on One Little Independent Records.
His music has found favour and support from national and international radio, online and leading print publications.
