On a Wing and A Prayer – Musical Performance | Event in Stirling | AllEvents About the event On a Wing and A Prayer – Musical Performance
Join us in the Pathfoot Building for a performance of Nordic Viola's brand-new album with Pete and Joe Stollery, On A Wing and A Prayer.

About this Event

Join us in the Pathfoot Building, University of Stirling for a performance of Nordic Viola's brand-new album with Pete and Joe Stollery, "On A Wing and A Prayer - Reflections on Deeside's Changing Habitat." There will be an opportunity to meet with the musicians and ask questions about the project after the performance.

Katherine Wren (viola) and Pete Stollery (electronics) perform their new album, released on 6th February, in collaboration with composer Joe Stollery.

Set in Glen Quoich in the Cairngorm Mountains, the music reflects on the River Dee, its woodlands and its wildlife, as it progresses from the still, frozen landscape experienced by the musicians in January 2024 to the violent floods of the Muckle Spates of 1829 and 2015.

The programme also includes music by Scottish-Icelander Charles Ross and Deeside fiddler, Paul Anderson.

Audience members are welcome to stay for a short discussion with the musicians after the performance and the chance to buy the album.
