# Event Details - **Event Name**: Norton Summit / Morialta Third Falls (13km) - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 04 Jul, 2026 at 08:30 am – Sat, 04 Jul, 2026 at 02:30 pm - **Event Description**: Join us as we walk from Norton Summit to explore Morialta including Third Falls on Saturday 4th July 2026. Tickets are $45.00pp (discounted for bronze, silver and gold members) To see our membership packages head to https://www.wisewomenwalking.org.au/index.cfm?module=MEMBERSHIP_V2 WALK DETAILS This walk is approximately 13.5km (allow up to 5 hours depending on group pace). This is a moderate to challenging grade 4 hike from Norton Summit to Morialta via Third Falls where we will encircle the top of Morialta before returning to Norton Summit. Expect trails which are undulated and rocky in parts, and a few gradual climbs and descents along the way. There is a chance of wet feet at the creek crossings depending on recent rain. Hiking poles will be useful if you have them. MEET TIME AND LOCATION Please arrive at 8.15am ready for an 8.30am start. Our meet spot is The Scenic Hotel, Old Norton Summit Road, Norton Summit. Your leader will be waiting at the outdoor tables of Scenic Hotel by Norton Summit Road. Toilets are located across the road from the Scenic Hotel. Please note that this intersection is a tricky one, so take care trying to find your carpark. There is parking available on Colonial Drive or off St Johns Road. Medical Details Form which can be downloaded from our website. If you are unable to print from home, your walk leader will have spare forms with them. WEATHER AND GEAR You can check the forecast for the walk location here: https://www.bom.gov.au/places/sa/norton-summit/forecast/detailed/ If the weather forecast is for extreme weather or a fire ban is issued for the Adelaide Hills, this walk will be cancelled the day before and fully refunded. We will only cancel last minute (by text message and email) if there is a severe weather warning/thunderstorm warning or weather events that are likely to impact on the safety of our leaders and walkers. Due to the variability of the weather, the following items will be needed: - a daypack/backpack for required gear/water - 2-3 litres of water - sun protection (hat, sunnies, suncream) - wet weather gear (check the forecast and plan accordingly!) - blister kit/personal medication - high energy snacks/fruit to enjoy along the way - hiking boots/walking shoes with good grip - layerable clothing for before/during/after the walk (eg. jumper/jacket) - walking poles (optional) Please ensure you have the minimum gear required as no refunds are possible after booking. If you arrive underprepared our leaders have the right to ask you not to walk with us for safety reasons. Note: All our leaders carry group first aid kits, emergency communication devices and are qualified bushwalking leaders. AFTER WALK COFFEE Join us for a drink after the walk at the Scenic Hotel in Norton Summit (start/finish location). OTHER INFORMATION Our walks are all about fun, fitness and friendship - not a personal training session. If we cannot walk and talk at the same time we are walking too fast! And we never leave anyone behind. Minimum age requirement for our walks is 18 years. For the walk to go ahead, we need a minimum of 5 walkers registered by the registration closing time (5pm the day before the walk). If a walk is cancelled due to the minimum number not being met, participants who have registered will be notified by text the evening before the walk and a refund will be given. During our walks, photos may be taken for use publicly on our website, social media channels and e-newsletter.
