Join artist Robin Hicks for a relaxed and inspiring five-week watercolour course designed for new, continuing and intermediate students.

Whether you’re just beginning or looking to deepen your practice, this class will guide you through:

Building strong foundations in watercolour
Developing texture and form
Exploring colour mixing and layering
Working with ink and wash techniques
Creating fresh, expressive and colourful paintings

Each session offers supportive guidance and space to grow your own artistic style.

Please bring the following:

Paints (tubes only):
A minimum of three primary colours (red, blue, yellow), with warm and cool versions of each, plus an earth colour.

Suggested colours:

Ultramarine blue / Cobalt blue
Cerulean blue / Manganese blue
Cadmium red / Spectrum red
Alizarin / Rose madder
Cadmium yellow / Spectrum yellow / Hansa yellow / Azo yellow
Burnt umber
Yellow ochre / Australian red gold / Raw sienna
Burnt sienna
White (optional)

Other Materials:

Palette
Watercolour paper (300gsm, medium)
Brands: Arches, Canson, Saunders, Fabriano
One full sheet cut into quarters (approx. 37 x 26 cm each) or a pad of similar size
Pencil for sketching
Waterproof black ink pen (0.3, 0.5, or 0.7 preferred)
Sketch pad, loose paper, or mixed media paper

Brushes:

Round watercolour brush (size 12–14, fine point)
Flat brush (1–2 inch hake, natural or synthetic)
