- **Event Description**: Built in 2014, Browns Creek Trail is beautiful anytime of the year. Before it was a recreational trail it was an important transportation route for trains north of Stillwater. This photo (thanks to John Runk and Washington Historical Society) is looking north as the tracks approach Dutchtown and the bridge over what is now State Highway 95. You can see the bridge in the center background. 

Also in the background are the steep banks of the Wisconsin side of the St. Croix River. The frozen river is visible through the bare trees. 

Want to learn about the history of the Brown's Creek State Trail? Join the MN DNR GBCTA Naturalist Carolyn as we take a stroll through the past. From the biking, hiking, and horse trails we know today, to the rail line of the past, and beyond, we will learn about it all! 

We will meet at the trailhead in Stillwater near 401 Laurel St. E. 

We recommend a hat, sunscreen, and bringing water.
