With mindful instruction from TWO master broom makers, Chris Robbins and Curt Cable, craft your own unique, elegant hand broom of the Appalachians.

No experience needed. All levels welcome.
Ages 12 and up

Curt Cable  has been making brooms for over 20 years. He  began after becoming intrigued by the craft at the Back Woods Festival in Central Ohio. The passing years have seen a slow but steady growth in both his skills and devotion toward the craft. Some of his most recent growth includes participation in some of the best craft shows in the country and teaching brooming at local and regional workshops like the Augusta Heritage center in Elkins West Virginia.

Chris Robbins developed a love of broom making at age fourteen when he began working in the broom shop in Renfro Valley, KY. The simplistic beauty in an everyday object is what keeps Chris making brooms after over twenty-five years in the field. As the son of an educator, teaching comes naturally to Chris, and he's always happy and willing to share his craft with others.

$40-$200 Sliding Scale (pay as much as you can, this helps make the class affordable to others)
