A full day of writing classes, snacks and coffee, open studio, zine factory, book fair, and open mic
Join Stevens Point's local community of writers at CREATE (1300 Maria Drive), for this retreat where you can grow your creative writing practice in the ways that suit you best:
- “Open Studio” time to work independently on your writing projects (with free coffee and snacks!)
- Writing classes taught by UW-Stevens Point creative writing professors Jill Stukenberg and Jeff Snowbarger
- Networking opportunities with other Wisconsin writers
- Zine factory (interactive, DIY booklet publishing)
- Mini-book fair
- Open mic
Writers working in all genres are welcome: poets, novelists, memoirists, writers of informative nonfiction, and even people who haven’t yet done a lot of writing. Writers from across Wisconsin are welcome to join us.

Schedule:
- 10:00 am-12:00 pm: Open studio, independent quiet writing time throughout CREATE to develop works-in-progress; coffee and conversation in Community Room
- 12:00-2:00: Lunch on your own; zine factory and mini-book fair in Community Room featuring Cornerstone Press, Midwest Review, and local authors
- 2:00-4:00: Workshops on writing topics by UWSP creative writing faculty in Community Room
