About this Event

Meet and greet the artists after the show!

Percussive guitar and fast fingerpicking are the backbone of Emma Fradd's music. Emma has released four studio albums, one of them being an album of ambient music and more recently her single ‘Firing range’ highlights her diverse gift for songwriting. Her music has taken her on multiple tours across Canada, New Zealand, England, with her band Interior Castle and many tours across Australia in her dance-pop band Heaps Good Friends. Emma returns with her new single 'Plainest Self' featuring Neil Smith from Peach Pit. Sharing her heart through her songs and wow-ing listeners with her ballistic guitar skills, she’s going on tour January 2025 across Eastern US and Canada

Levi Dylan Sikes, the songwriter behind the Indiana-based outfit Former Ruins, has been active since 2017, a year after his first child was born. “It was the calling toward fatherhood that coincided with my efforts to begin writing songs again—I'd pretty much given up by my junior year of college,” Sikes observes. “Of course, by having a family first, it's meant I haven’t been free to pursue music at any cost." He adds, "Which is probably a very good thing." The interplay of devotion and wonder, the intervention of mercy amidst difficulty, the durability and resilience of the vows we keep—these are through-lines in Sikes' growing catalog of literate indie rock.

Called one of "16 Artists to Watch" by Brett McCracken in 2021, Former Ruins has become known for its lyrically-rich world of 80s-inflected instrumentation, anchored by Sikes' emotive baritone that nods toward the underground Americana acts he was raised on as much as the post-punk influences of mewithoutYou and The National.

With the support of his family and a dedicated base of listeners, Sikes has developed Former Ruins into both a fully-fledged live band and a meticulous home-production effort. Releasing his fan-funded debut Large Startling in March 2020 followed by the EP Fruit of Winter later that year, Sikes then turned his attention toward playing regional shows and collaborating with various members of the Fort Wayne music scene. His most recent album No Creature Is Hidden released June 9, 2023, the day before the birth of his first son. Dealing with themes of memory, encounter, and identity, the ten songs convey a palpable sense of gravity and take acrobatic flight in equal measure, resulting in what Indie Vision Music calls "an album that easily rivals artists of higher stature."

In April 2024, Levi released the self-produced single "Western Edge of Eastern Time," marking a sonic shift into guitar-forward cosmic Americana. Anticipating his family's move to the Michiana/South Bend area in August 2024, the single represents the firstfruits of a third full length album currently in production.
