In 2026, Frederick County will begin work on the Comprehensive Plan, a long-term document shaping the county’s future through 2045.

To support visionary ideas, creative thinking, and community-centered engagement, Leslie Spencer, Jan Van Haute, and I have formed the Frederick County Comprehensive Plan 2026 Community Work Group.

We will host monthly public meetings featuring guest speakers, with county officials invited to attend, creating space for learning, lively engagement, and meaningful discussion. Our hope is to come together as a community and explore visionary ideas for Frederick County’s beautiful future.

Our first meeting will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 5:30 PM at Trumpet Vine Farm in Stephens City. This opening session will introduce the Comprehensive Plan process and outline the topics and speakers planned for the months ahead. Families are welcome, and light refreshments will be provided.
